On stretched canvas by John Scheurer in his workshop , lines are drawn to infinity. Most often guided by a rule , the artist works up relentlessly . Lines are sometimes found , or streak the space of the canvas , parallel , never cross.
The works presented in this new edition ArtFloor reflect the richness of the production of the artist. Each canvas retained in the body has a variation on the theme of the line and the whole reflects the infinite diversity of their treatment. Sometimes extremely thin , sometimes wider , continuous or interrupted , they come in a multitude of colors and rendered.
Winner of prestigious awards such as the Federal Exchange of Fine Arts (1969, 1970, 1971 ) or cultural Leenaards Foundation Award (2011) , John Scheurer has many works in domestic and foreign public collections. These include the Cantonal Museum of Fine Arts in Lausanne, Vevey Jenisch Museum , the Museum of Fine Arts in Wroclaw, Poland or the Museum of Contemporary Art of São Paulo in Brazil.
